| THE TOWN OF JUPITER has taken action to preserve the waterfronts and create a recreational corridor to provide opportunities for residents and visitors to gather and play along the waterfront. Two separate planning efforts were embarked on by the town leaders and Developers, which resulted in the Jupiter Riverwalk and also the Jupiter Inlet Village. These aggressive plans are being implemented as we speak.
The goal is to enable EVERYONE to interact with the waterways, and therefore keeping this pristine property from becoming lost to private developments such as condominiums (concrete jungles) and gated communities. Jupiter waterfront presently consists of many parks on the ocean as the Town has retained much of its shoreline and therefore Jupiter is considered a beautiful community reflecting small town "Florida" character. The plans further ensure places for gatherings and festivals, waterfront that promotes water-oriented uses by the public, the promotion of pedestrian use throughout the Inlet Village and encourage village- scale growth, which will preserve the Lighthouse's predominance and stature as the tallest structure within the Inlet Village District. A COLOR-CODED MAP below outlines the areas being preserved and developed for these uses. It includes the Jupiter Inlet Park and Jetty and that Inlet Waterway that goes west along the waterway past Jetty's Restaurant and under the bridge to the Intracoastal Waterway, which then turns south to Ocean Way and US# One. THE INLET VILLAGE PROMENADE includes The Jetty and the property along the Jupiter Inlet Waterway west from the Jetty, past Jetty's Restaurant and under the bridge. The village promenade will include Lighthouse Views, Docks, Marine Oriented Uses, Hotel, Public Gathering and an Archeological/ Historical Center. THE WATERWAY ENTERTAINMENT SECTION is on the Intracoastal that runs North and South under the Indiantown Bridge and continue North as far as THE NEW Marina built recently in front of the Condos on Indiantown Road and the Bridge. This section will include Shopping/Dining/Public Docks/ gathering locations, and entertainment. South of the Marina it becomes a Natural Area Section. THE NATURAL AREA SECTION is the Intracoastal running parallel to US#1 from the (Bridge) Marina north to Ocean Way (a landmark for you to decipher, Ocean Way is the corner where Jupiter Ocean Racquet club on US#1 and Ocean Way). This area will be Park- Like walking along the Intracoastal and having Environmental Interaction and the potential of the greatest view of the Intracoastal Waterway. A Hotel/Marina/ Restaurant is on the map where the Marina presently is next to Jetty'sRestaurant by the Jupiter, Tequesta Bridge.. I have not verified which Hotel but the rhetoric is that it is a Marriott. This, to me, is going to enhance our Ocean Trail Condos and all other Real Estate in Jupiter. The guests at the Hotel will bring business to Jupiter Restaurants etc. The Hotel will have a fantastic view of the Lighthouse and what a great place for a Resort Hotel. Long needed in Jupiter, first-class updated rooms run by a first class Hotel operation. OCEAN TRAIL RESIDENTS only have to walk the beach to the Jetty, which will connect to this Riverwalk and stroll or take a water taxi to the shopping, dining and sightseeing along the waterway. If not by beach we can walk to the end of the road by Circle K and a few blocks from there is a new cross street to the water Taxi. Also along that road are new restaurants and shops (across from old Log Cabin Restaurant). It is all very convenient and in walking distance. What great news that our little Paradise here at Ocean Trail is becoming more Paradiseable ( I know it is not a word but I like it) Ocean Trail More Paradiseable Than Ever. I like it!! I like it!!!! I hope most of you can view the plans and the maps on properly. Color is important because it is color coded for the different areas. The map shows new cross streets, an area for a Water Taxi, and two new Restaurants etc. I hope you enjoyed this information and once again I would like to remind owners that I need condos to sell in Ocean Trail. I also would like to help you if you contemplate moving or investing in Jupiter, Juno or Jupiter Island property. Fondly, |
